Google Instant Keeps Google On Top

In the recent past, comScore brought out in the open its “Search Share Report” for the month of September. The report when compared to figures from the last month show very little change in trends or numbers. Hence the change across the board has been insignificant according to the numbers. The report shows Google is up 0.7%, while Yahoo is down 0.7%, Microsoft is up 0.1% and Ask is down 0.1%; AOL shows no increase or decrease at all. The press release pertaining to this released report states that

“The September 2010 qSearch figures reflect the impact of Google Instant Search”.

comScore’s blog does an incredibly interesting job detailing out the fine and minute details of how they measure the search activity procedures. They go on to put in plain words with the purpose of explanation that they have in progress “Powered By” reporting; ‘Google’s share includes all searches with Google properties including AOL and MyWebSearch (Ask), while Bing’s includes all their entities plus Yahoo! Web, image, and video searches.’ According to “powered by” reports a total of 69.1% of organic search results came from Google and Bing accounted for 23.5% of organic results for the months of September.
